Reference photo from my niece (Max's daughter), Honey, Melbourne.

A portrait of my brother Max... he's a talented passionate classic car restorer in Melbourne, and fabricates metal panels from scratch the old-fashioned panel-beating way, meticulously. Nicknamed the "Rust Dr" by many of his clients, Max has earned the reputation of being able to fabricate any panel to look factory perfect and producing an end product that will please even the most fastidious car collector. It's an art form in its own right!

I thought it apt to paint this portrait with faux metals, rust and copper patina to emulate Max's passion

Closeup of Max's face, from the original photo I decided to make his eyes a little more 'smiley', as this is how I know my brother :)

Closeups of the painting, showing the metallic paints layered over top of the monochrome acrylic painting.
Lots of beautiful coppers, bronzes, and teal, blue and purple shimmers

Framed with a simplistic wooden box frame

Portrait faux copper metal
